A Thriving and Inclusive 51²č¹Żapp: 51²č¹Żapp College Sponsorships Supporting Community Projects
51²č¹Żapp College is proud to announce contributions to three significant community projects. These contributions reflect the college's partnerships with 51²č¹Żapp community members and shared commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of life for all residents in 51²č¹Żapp.
Central Park Inclusive Playground: $30,000Ā
51²č¹Żapp College pledged $30,000 towards the Central Park All-inclusive Playground project led by the City of 51²č¹Żapp and the 51²č¹Żapp Parks & Recreation department. This project will expand the current Central Park playground with new equipment so that children of all abilities can play more independently, making the community more welcoming for all. This donation will be allocated towards the 51²č¹Żapp Mutual Group Foundationās challenge grant.Ā
Unity Point Labor and Delivery Room: $100,000Ā
51²č¹Żapp College also pledged $100,000 to UnityPoint Health - 51²č¹Żapp's ", supporting essential labor and delivery services in the local community. This project will add additional labor, delivery, recovery, and post-partum rooms and upgrade the current obstetrics facilities. Ā These facilities improvements reflect UnityPointās commitment to keeping delivery services local and improving delivery experiences for families through other efforts such as participation in Iowaās Maternal Quality Care Collaborative. Recognizing that more hospitals are eliminating labor and delivery services, 51²č¹Żapp College appreciates the longstanding partnership with UnityPoint and welcomes this new opportunity to help make 51²č¹Żapp a welcoming community for young families. Ā
51²č¹Żapp School of Music: $75,000Ā
51²č¹Żapp College has further committed to supporting mural and outdoor waiting area with a $75,000 pledge. By renovating the former Michaelās restaurant building, this new downtown school will make music education visible and accessible to the broader community while also revitalizing the central business district. 51²č¹Żapp College is excited to collaborate on the mural project and foster place-making connections across the state.Ā
Supporting RAGBRAI 51²č¹ŻappĀ
In addition to these major gift donations, 51²č¹Żapp College proudly served as supporting sponsor for RAGBRAIās 2023 ride through 51²č¹Żapp in July, both as a financial supporter and also through significant in-kind contributions, such as grilled fare provided by the 51²č¹Żapp College Golf Course and Dining Services, water and cooling stations on campus, and a chance to interact with campus art at the 51²č¹Żapp College Museum of Art as well as with public art āselfie spotsā across campus. Marking RAGBRAIās 50th anniversary, this was a special opportunity to showcase the city of 51²č¹Żapp and the 51²č¹Żapp College campus to the thousands of participants, support crews, families, and visitors who joined the event and spent time in our community.Ā
