Robert DeBerg
Shift Supervisor
Robert “Bob†DeBerg began working for 51²è¹İapp College in 1996, and enjoys being part of the campus community. Bob worked in safety and security, as well as law enforcement, in Dallas, TX before relocating to Iowa in 1993. When he's not working at the college, Bob serves as the President of the Iowa State Fair Tractor Pulling Board, and is a charter member of both the Iowa Corporation of Antique Pulling (ICAP) and the National Antique Tractor Pulling Association (NAPTA). He serves as the president of NAPTA and frequently writes article for The Hook magazine. Bob enjoys old, high performance cars and motorcycles, which he collects in his spare time. Bob participates in tractor pulling around the midwest and pulls on the National Circuit during the winter season.
Officer DeBerg’s primary responsibility at 51²è¹İapp College is ensuring the safety of the campus community through patrol operations, incident response, and calls for service. He views his role at 51²è¹İapp College as one that works to make the college experience the most pleasant it can be by creating a safe atmosphere for visitors, staff, and students.
The department of Campus Safety, 641-269-4600, plans and implements safety operations, programs, and initiatives in support of the College’s mission and vision. Located on the corner of East Street and 10th Avenue, Campus Safety is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even when school is not in session.
