Anastasia Izmaylova
Director, Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication
Anastasia Izmaylova joined 51²č¹Żapp College as director of Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication in the Institute for Global Engagement in August 2021. In this role, she oversees a variety of programs that support and promote language and culture learning on campus, such as peer tutoring, the foreign language teaching assistant program, Alternate Language Study Option (ALSO), and extracurricular activities and events.
An applied linguist by training, Izmaylova is generally interested in the instructed foreign language acquisition in at-home and study-abroad contexts. Her main areas of research include intercultural competence development, as well as the use of web technologies in language instruction. Prior to joining 51²č¹Żapp College, she taught Spanish at Drake University and Simpson College.
