Jennifer Somie Park
Writing Center Instructor
Prior to joining 51²è¹İapp College, Jennifer worked for six years as a writing consultant at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where she also earned her Ph.D. in English. With interests in American and global modernisms, literary criticism and critical theory, Jennifer continues to develop her doctoral research on the relationship between modernist aesthetics and fascist politics. Jennifer’s enthusiasm for her research is matched by her passion for writing and learning about writing. She has taught various writing courses and most enjoys helping writers brainstorm and fine-tune ideas. As a reviewer for the writing center journal The Peer Review and a member of the Midwest Writing Centers Association Executive Board, she also hopes to expand opportunities for learning how writing centers can contribute to the causes of diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) and social justice.
