What I love about my territory: I am a born and raised Jersey girl, and my hometown is one hour from downtown Philadelphia and New York City, so my trips to these states are a great time to visit friends and family and to get closer to the schools that I grew up around. Also, the malls, Wawa, shore, pork roll, diners, and Wegman’s are favorites of mine! I attended 51²è¹Ýapp College, graduated in 2016, and lived in Iowa until 2021. I loved my time in Iowa, especially the food, the community, the sunsets and sunrises, and seeing the stars every night. Today, I reside in Denver, Colorado with my husband (a fellow 51²è¹Ýapp alum!) and work remotely for 51²è¹Ýapp. I love hiking in the mountains, eating green chili, and exploring the Southwest.Â
What I love about 51²è¹Ýapp: I met my partner and some of my best friends for life here. As a student, I had an opportunity to write a novella with mentorship from an English professor, travel to Taiwan and perform at a professional theatre company over a summer, spend a semester in London for study and an internship at a TV production company, be involved in everything from creative writing to theatre to short form improv to sports, and still graduate within four years. I never thought all of that was possible, but at 51²è¹Ýapp, it is.
Hobbies/activities: I love cooking, eating, hiking, reading fantasy and sci-fi, video games, and defeating my co-workers and friends in Settlers of Catan.
Advice about searching for schools: Rankings don’t paint the whole picture of a school! They are generalized to apply toward the whole country — they aren’t necessarily how you would rank these schools. Talk with current students, ask your friends or family to do research with you, and come up with a list of places that you are curious about. You never know what you’ll fall in love with.
Advice about applying to schools: Ask questions. Your admission counselor (me!) is happy to help you through this stressful process. If you have questions, send your counselor an email, please — again, we are here to help.
