Christopher Ray Olsen
Visiting Professor
Chris taught statistics at Washington High School before moving into administrative work as an assessment specialist in the Cedar Rapids, IA, community schools. He comes to 51²è¹Ýapp after teaching at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon. With undergraduate majors in mathematics and philosophy, he is perfectly happy to solve problems or prove that they don’t exist. He currently serves on the editorial board of Teaching Statistics and is working on two books. His wife, Sally, is a retired computer scientist and black belt embroiderer. His daughter, Anna, holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Caltech and is something of an expert on earthquakes.
