Sustainability Coordinators

Energy/Emissions Coordinators

  • actively promote student awareness and education surrounding energy issues
 through outreach campaigns and events such as tabling

  • assist with updating the campus emissions inventory
  • create tangible steps toward carbon neutrality

  • help track energy usage for each building and target specific ways to 
reduce consumption

The current energy/emissions coordinators are:

  • Will Chapin ’24
  • Grace Kurtz ’25

Compost and Recycling Coordinators

  • implement the campus composting pilot project
  • organize volunteers to deliver compost bins to the pick-up site
  • work with the recycling coordinator to organize trash sorts

  • track composting usage and data
  • educate the student community about the presence and successful use of composting opportunities

The current compost and recycling coordinator is:

  • Tristan Davis ’25

Water Coordinator

  • actively promotes student awareness and education pertinent to campus consumption of water through outreach campaigns and events such as tabling
  • collates and organizes campus water consumption data
  • creates tangible steps towards reducing water consumption on campus

The water coordinator is:

  • Em Huss-Lederman ’25

Communications Coordinators

  • update and maintain the campus sustainability website
  • create and implement a social media platform
  • help other coordinators with outreach and education campaigns

The current communications coordinator is:

  • Haileigh Steffen ’26

Land Stewards

The land stewards engage with the newest on-campus native plantings, including the MacEachron Field prairie planting, the Macy House prairie plots, the athletic field plantings, and others. The overall 
purpose of these positions is to engage in the active and ongoing process of land stewardship and bring awareness to members of our campus and the larger community of the value, beauty, and importance of prairie, with an emphasis on sustainability, continuity, and expansion of prairie conservation and restoration at the College.

The current land stewards are:

  • Sam Drake-Flam ’25
  • Sara Garcia ’25

AASHE STARS Report Card Coordinators

Student staff who work on the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education’s report collate information on a wide range of sustainability-related aspects of the 51²è¹Ýapp College. This information is used to generate a complete sustainability assessment of the College. 

The current AASHE STARS report card coordinators are:
