The costs of participating in 51²č¹Żapp-in-London are higher than a typical 51²č¹Żapp semester. However, for students with need-based financial aid, GIL is one of a few programs for which the Collegeās cap on the Off-Campus Study Grant does not apply. The Office of Financial Aid has a helpful summary of how financial aid works for GIL. Financial aid, fellowships, and expenses covered as part of the cost of the program all help manage the higher cost of a semester in London, making 51²č¹Żapp-in-London financially attractive for many students. Please see additional details below.
Fellowships
At this time, there are no 51²č¹Żapp-sponsored fellowships for GIL. You might consider applying for a Lord Acton Memorial Scholarship, administered from the United Kingdom. The scholarship is open to undergraduate students who are currently enrolled at a US college or university, and who will be studying abroad in the UK for at least one term/semester.

Financial Aid
Students approved for participation in GIL who wish to receive aid must go through the same financial aid process as students intending to remain on campus. All financial aid deadlines and requirements still apply. Certain conditions apply to GIL that may affect your financial aid:
- Merit scholarships can be used for GIL but cannot be adjusted upwards to reflect increased costs.
- Tuition-remission benefits do apply to the 51²č¹Żapp-in-London program.
- Aid will not under any circumstances exceed the cost of attendance.
