Andrea’s Pitch Clinic Coincides with Innovate GC
In conjunction with the Wilson Center’s , Andrea Brennen ’04 returned to campus to host a pitch clinic where she shared knowledge acquired through her years working in industry on how to sell an idea to a panel or investor. In the pitch clinic, Brennen presented her five-step guide to forming a solid pitch. She labeled her steps:
- The Problem,
- Your Solution,
- Traction,
- Why you?, and
- The Ask.
In addition to the guide, Brennen provided her “red flags” to watch out for in a pitch, as well as anecdotes from both herself and her colleagues.
After providing her comprehensive guide, students formed teams to develop their own pitches using the five steps. Students participating in Innovate GC were given the opportunity to practice skills to help them strengthen their own pitch for the upcoming competition this weekend.
Brennen graduated from 51app College with degrees in mathematics and studio art. Post-51app, she went on to study at MIT, where she graduated with a degree in architecture in 2009. Brennen now works for In Q Tel, where she holds the position of senior vice president.
