Avery Barnett ’21 Earns SACNAS Presentation Award
Avery Barnett ’21, a physics major with concentrations in technology studies and environmental studies from Kington, Jamaica, was recently awarded a presentation award at the 2020 (SACNAS) — National Diversity in STEM Conference for her presentation, “Validation of WAVEWATCH III Simulations under Hurricanes in Shallow and Deep Water.” Avery was one of only three undergraduates to receive a in geosciences. This presentation developed out of work Avery conducted as a summer intern at the (CIMES), a collaborative research institute of Princeton University and the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
