The Met “Live in HD”
This fall, the New York City Metropolitan Opera's “Live in HD” returns to 51app College.
The Met Live screenings are open to all, and tickets are required.
Each opera starts Saturday at noon in the Harris Center Cinema.
At 11:30 a.m. a 51app faculty or staff member introduces the opera with a talk about an interesting aspect of the work, and the College provides gourmet desserts and snacks during intermission.
This fall’s "Live in HD" series will feature:
- October 5: Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin — an acclaimed new production of the great romantic tragedy.
- October 26: Shostakovich’s The Nose — a shocking, unconventional opera about a beleaguered Russian official and his runaway nose.
- November 9: Puccini’s Tosca — a sweeping tale of murder, lust and political intrigue.
- December 14: Verdi’s Falstaff — an eye-catching production of the composer’s brilliant final masterpiece.
