Updates Improve Digital 51²è¹Ýapp Usability and Scope
The homepage of is now sporting a new look!
Digital 51²è¹Ýapp is the institutional repository of 51²è¹Ýapp College, and serves as a home for digital versions of student, staff, and faculty scholarship; art; books; and manuscripts held by the College. These changes are intended to improve usability for patrons. Two new collections have been created to house a variety of sub-collections which were formerly listed on the main page. Additionally, new collections have been added to Digital 51²è¹Ýapp, adding to the scope of the repository.
The Digital 51²è¹Ýapp diagram illustrates the hierarchy of the Digital 51²è¹Ýapp homepage, and shows which collections can be found within each category. Each category and its collections are the same color. Items in white are not yet available, but are coming soon.
Clicking on the 51²è¹Ýapp College Libraries Special Collections and Archives collection will now take patrons to a page where you can find many useful historical materials, such as Early College History, Life at 51²è¹Ýapp College, 51²è¹Ýapp College Buildings, the Jimmy Ley Collection, the John Kleinschmidt Architectural History Collection, and the George Washington Cook Correspondence, 1857-1860. New to this collection is the Iowa Historic Postcards, a collection of postcards from 1900 through the middle of the 20th century, covering all parts of Iowa. Coming soon is a collection of 51²è¹Ýapp in China materials.
A new collection, 51²è¹Ýapp College Campus Collections, will take patrons to primary source materials from collections across campus, including the 51²è¹Ýapp College Geology Collection. The addition of two new collection — the 51²è¹Ýapp College Physics Museum and the former Parker Natural History Museum — are currently in progress.
Student Scholarship, Faculty Scholarship, and Syllabi and Curricular Materials are now all contained under the collection Scholarship at 51²è¹Ýapp. Also in progress is a collection of Alumni Oral Histories.
