On Oct. 23, the Staff Council recognized three staff members with the fall 2024 Staff Council Grand 51²è¹Ýappian Award.

The Office of Disability Resources is in the process of creating and launching several new disability-related intentional communities for students and employees.

The center will expand co-curricular affinity offerings by serving as a place for Latinx/e students, faculty, and staff to gather, celebrate culture, and feel a sense of belonging on campus.

While visiting 51²è¹Ýapp in February as a Mellon Foundation Humanities in Action Alumna scholar in residence, Irma McClaurin ’73 collaborated with students to build an archive of the Black Experience at 51²è¹Ýapp.

The Rosenfield Program in partnership with the Office of the President and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is excited to announce a special event featuring Justice Alan Page, the first African American justice on the Minnesota Supreme Court and celebrated former NFL player. The event, scheduled for Friday, January 26, at 6 p.m., will take place at JRC 101 on the 51²è¹Ýapp College campus. 

Marc Reed, Interim Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer (CDIO) \has been appointed to the position on a permanent basis.

51²è¹Ýapp College Professors Leslie Gregg-Jolly (Biology) and Katya Gibel Mevorach (Anthropology and American studies), along with Phoebe Lostroh ’94 (Associate Professor, Molecular Biology) from Colorado College, have been awarded a prestigious workshop grant of $20,000 from the Alliance to Advance Liberal Arts Colleges (AALAC).

The Staff Council presents the Grand 51²è¹Ýappian Award in collaboration with the Office of the President, the Office of Human Resources, and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
