Deborah Dodge will join 51²è¹İapp College as the new ombudsperson beginning on Monday, Dec. 2, 2024. Deborah brings a wealth of experience in conflict resolution, mediation, and fostering inclusive environments, having served in various roles in higher education, most recently as the university ombudsperson at Central Michigan University.
After years of dedicated service at 51²è¹İapp College Chinyere Ukabiala, Ombuds, will mark the conclusion of an illustrious tenure that began in February 2013 when she became 51²è¹İapp College's first Ombudsperson with her retirement on June 30.
On Thursday, Oct. 27, Geddes, an international speaker on restorative justice, author, and advocate for racial healing and justice, will present the Scholar’s Convocation, “Defining Community: Resistance and Discovery,†at 11 a.m. and a book talk (registration required) at 3 p.m.
51²è¹İapp College is pleased to host Deidre DeJear for a virtual event on Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Recognizing that there is value in even our most challenging circumstances, Deidre DeJear will deliver a message on how to harness the power of 2020 to deliver triumphant victories.
