IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND DATES
The Department of Residence Life is introducing a new and condensed housing selection process this Spring semester. Over the last few years, we have noticed that housing choices have increased, but our process hasn’t changed. We have found that students are interested in many types of housing options on campus and within College-owned housing. To that end, we are partnering with several campus departments and launching what we hope will be new and improved housing selection experiences and processes.
1) Residential Affinity Housing Experience (RAHE)
Residential Affinity Housing Experiences work closely with identity specialists in identity and community development experiences for students in shared affinity. Each RAHE will have engagement opportunities to grow residents personal and communal goals around identity exploration. For academic year 2025-2026 the following RAHE experiences will be available:
- First-Generation 1130 East Street
- Latinx Living Learning Community Windsor House (Latinx Cultural Center)
- Lavender Hall: LGBTQIA+ Living Learning Community Younker First Floor
- Sawubona House: Black/Pan-African Living Learning Community 1318 East Street
- Application is currently live (Jan.6) and closes February 10
- Interviews may occur on a rolling basis
- Placement notifications will be made in early March
- Deadline for acceptance of an offer is March 11
- Waitlist offers made March 11 (if needed)
2) Project Houses currently include the following houses:
Art House 1019 Park Street
Farm House 1023 Park Street
G.A.M.E. House 1128 East Street
GWARC House 1008 Park Street
The application timeline for Project Houses is as follows:
- The application is currently open (Jan. 6) and will close on February 10. (This is a separate process).
- Project House presentations start from January 22
- Project house approvals and accompanying House Coordinator offers sent: March 4
- Deadline for acceptance: March 11
- Waitlist offers made: March 11 (if needed)
3) 4-Person Apartments
Edith Renfrow Smith- Renfrow Hall
- Application goes live January 21 and closes February 12
- Renfrow committee will begin reviewing essays
- Renfrow Hall offers will be sent February 26
- Deadline for acceptance March 10
- Waitlist will be created and offers will be made on rolling basis starting March 11
4) Special Room Selection (SRS)
51²è¹Ýapp College Housing has special and unique room setups. These include 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 person spaces in Cowles and Co-ops and Triples in Read and Haines. Students who are interested in these types of spaces will be able to sign up for Special Room Selection.
- Application goes live February 26 and closes March 24 (Spring Break occurs during this application period)
- First round of SRS offers will be sent out March 26
- Final round of SRS offers will be sent out March 28
- Deadline for acceptance March 31
5) General Room Selection
The General Room Selection is 51²è¹Ýapp Residence Life’s largest housing room selection. Students who choose not to live in a specific affinity group, project house, or special room selection will participate in the general room selection.
- April 1 – April 4
- 4th Years and Rising 4th Years (April 1)
- Rising 3rd Years (April 2)
- Rising 2nd Years (April 3)
- Room Selection closes (April 4)
