Rosenfield Program

The Rosenfield Program in Public Affairs, International Relations, and Human Rights prepares students for a lifetime of civic engagement and connects the 51²è¹Ýapp community to the broader social and political issues that define the world beyond 51²è¹Ýapp. The program enriches the College curriculum by bringing distinguished scholars, public servants, and commentators to campus. Other initiatives include funding student internships and sponsoring study tours. Rosenfield Program activities contribute to 51²è¹Ýapp’s tradition of social responsibility and help to build a lively academic community that links 51²è¹Ýapp students to the world.

Sept. 17: Constitution Day Event. Professor Jill Lens, University of Iowa, will discuss reproductive justice and constitutional history. 4 p.m., Humanities and Social Studies Center, Multipurpose Room, A1231.

Sept. 18: Speaker Terrell Jermaine Starr, independent journalist, will discuss the war in Ukraine. Co-sponsored by Russian, Central European, and Eurasian Studies and the Chrystal Fund. 4 p.m., Humanities and Social Studies Center, Multipurpose Room, A1231.

Oct. 1: Speaker Federico Finchelstein, the New School for Social Research and author of The Wannabe Fascists: A Guide to Understanding the Greatest Threat to Democracy. 7 p.m. Humanities and Social Studies Center, Room A1231.

Oct. 10: Scholar's Convocation, Kathleen Belew, Northwestern University, author of Bring the War Home: The White Power Movement and Paramilitary America, and co-editor of A Field Guide to White Supremacy. Internships

The Rosenfield Program funds students whose internships fall under the program’s mission areas of public affairs, international relations, and human rights. Take a look at the students who received our support in past summers. And you won’t want to miss the 2024 internship presentations on Sept. 3.
