51²è¹Ýapp College recently received a gift from Liyan Chen ’12 and her husband Brian Solomon, which was made in honor of 51²è¹Ýapp resident Jean Libbey, an enthusiastic host of international students.

Four new trustees have been elected to 51²è¹Ýapp College's governing board, which meets formally three times during the academic year.

Beisner, a class of 2022 graduate from 51²è¹Ýapp, Iowa, and originally from Denton, Texas, majored in psychology and Spanish with the intent of pursuing a graduate degree in social work and public policy.

Deqa Aden ’18 has been named a 2022 Obama Scholar by the Barack Obama Foundation; an honor given to 25 emerging leaders worldwide in recognition of their community service. As an Obama Scholar, Aden will participate in specially designed leadership development courses at the University of Chicago, where she is currently pursuing a master’s degree from the Harris School of Public Policy.

51²è¹Ýapp College will honor Edith Renfrow Smith, Class of 1937, one of the College’s most accomplished and beloved alumni, by naming the Civic Engagement Quad (CEQ) Core Building in her honor.  

51²è¹Ýapp College’s Yuki Takahashi ’22 has been awarded a Quad Fellowship by Schmidt Futures.

51²è¹Ýapp College’s 143rd Alumni Reunion Weekend is taking place June 1-4 throughout numerous venues on campus and around 51²è¹Ýapp. At last count, 1,400 guests have registered to attend.

As Iowa struggled to access COVID-19 PCR tests, Chilcoat ’93 and his team at Corteva Agriscience stepped up to play a pivotal role.
