The HSSC is a model of sustainability for 51²č¹Żapp, the community, and the architecture industry. The building exceeds the American Institute of Architects 2030 Baseline, which is a set of goals and standards for reaching net zero emissions in the built environment.

Geothermal & Chilled Beams

A highly efficient geothermal heat pump delivers heating and cooling throughout the building via passive chilled beam units in the ceilings.

Stormwater Reduction

HSSC reduces water runoff with a green roof, bioswales, and rainwater captured for flushing and irrigation.

Occupancy Controls

Sensors throughout building automatically turn off lights, heating, and
cooling during periods of low occupancy.

Designed to introduce high-quality daylight in lieu of electric light whenever possible, HSSC features automatic dimming daylighting controls in classrooms, common areas, and offices.
